What is future of SAGE accounting in UK and Australia and also in USA?

Sage owns lots of titles, including Peachtree and BusinessWorks. In the USA, they continue to be strong. Because it is soooo costly to switch accounting software, most businesses will continue with a package until it is no longer possible to run it. It might not be a growth company, but at least it will be around for the next 20 years.

Some clouds on their horizon:

1. Quicken has made significant inroads in Peachtree's marketshare among new businesses.

2. Microsoft is in the middle of a $5 billion (US) investment into the accounting software market. While the current edition of Small Business Accounting isn't as good as Peachtree, you can bet that M$ will continue to improve it until things do work well. In addition, M$ bought the former Great Plains accounting software, as well as the former Solomon accounting software, and both come with significant installed bases as well as good reputations.
