OKAY. my kitchen paint will be light sage color in SEMI GLOSS%26gt; the ceiling will be cream white, but what ???
semi????

wayyyyyy too much light bouncing around. you want to wake up to that????

go high qual scrubbable satin like sw everclean with semi on the trim...

and semi on the walls will show EVERY imperfect on those walls

PS on that satin finish..... not all satins are the same. The satin sheen ranges varies from just above flat to just about semi-gloss. Ask your paint store for a sheen chart to show you what to expect from your satin. Shoot for something that shows some sheen but not a shiny semi-glass like satin.
Reply:save the semi-gloss for the trim unless your kitchen walls are perfect. our painter told us that semi-gloss shows every flaw. satin is what at least some companies call a new scrubable flat-type pain.

At any rate, your trim should be semi-gloss. If you're looking for a very glossy surface, maybe you'd enamel your trim.

your colors sound beautiful.
Reply:Look at a color wheel, and pick out the colors that make you 'feel' good. Sage green with blue, with yellow, with darker green, with taupe or brickish hues...lots of choices. Kitchen colors, I would think, you would want more 'warm' colors...inviting. What is your flooring? appliances? All of those items are factors that you have to consider. Have fun, and good luck.
Reply:I painted my kitchen with a darker mustard yellow for the trim with my sage and cream. Semi gloss worked well on all surfaces.
Reply:you can use what ever you want for the ceiling .I would use a matte finish on the ceiling but I would use the same color for your trim as on your ceiling but in a semi gloss.

you don't wanna put a semigloss on the ceiling it will show any in-perfection in you ceiling and it will draw attention away from your wall. you don't want to use the matte on your trim because its not washable and window Sile's and door way see alot of traffic and need to be washed. any other question please ask I live for this stuff.
Reply:Yeah I would save the semi for trim.Use a wipeable paint for the walls but not semi
Reply:I would personally just choose creme white for continuity.
Reply:watever makes u happy
Reply:I am a painting conrtactor and this is whai I would do ..flat on the ceiling ,dump the semi gloss for the walls and and go with an egshell and then satin on the trim I have done hundreds of homes like this and they come out beautifully I work in the luxury home market and if there was a problem i would know,so go with the sheens I mentioned and youll be fine.
