What is the purpose of Sage placed on doorframes?
Some use it to keep evil from passing through the door. Personally I prefer to use rowan.
Reply:as far as i can tell sage is used as a protective herb. It is frequently burned to cleanse used alot like hyssop or frankincense and myrrh not just Wicca hold it in high esteem. It has very potent qualities and taste good when engaged in a meal meant for spell work. the Italians have the right idea. there are several types of sage some edible and some not to tasty. try looking for the use of sage on the Internet on one of the Wicca search engine or just pump in Wicca and sage. good luck.
