How does one go about doing a cleansing in a house using sage and/or sweet grass?

It's called "Smudging" and I believe it is a Native American technique. You can also use it on yourself, burning an incense to purify and cleanse a person or area.

Incense is also used to "carry prayers to heaven", and is used in other religious ceremonies in (like Catholicism) too.

How does one go about doing a cleansing in a house using sage and/or sweet grass?
I am sorry I don't have a clue about that, BUT you can anoint the house and command the spirits to leave in the name of Jesus
Reply:it's really your own belief

it's like funerals are for the living, not the dead

if you feel it is necessary, then go for it

A Ritual for Home Cleansing and Healing

By OakWyse

Even the most peaceful of home sanctuaries receives the negative energies brought back to it by family members who encounter conflict in the world. To maintain the home as a safe haven of peace and health, it may be necessary from time to time to do a cleansing and healing ritual.

Preparation

A time should be chosen when all family members would be home and be able to participate. A celebrant known to the family may be asked to preside, or the family may lead the ritual on their own.

On an altar prepared in a central location, place three white candles signifying the blessing of the divine, as you understand it to be. As an alternative, colors may be used for specific qualities you wish to instill with the rite: green for healing, pink for love, brown for grounding, etc. Include a white sage smudge stick (or other available incense) for Air and Fire, and a bowl of salt water for Earth and Water. Finally, a plate of bread, and a cup of wine. Add other items to the altar as you wish. For example, pictures of family ancestors will add a depth of history to the rite. If it is night, turn lights on in each room of the house. Modify these preparations as is meaningful for you.

Invocation

All standing before the altar, a female elder of the family lights the candles, with a prayer for light and an invocation of the family's Deity, such as:

We light these candles in honor of the Goddess, our Mother.

As they bring light to our home, may she enlighten our lives.

We honor the spirits of _____________ (this place),

Our Ancestors who dwell in our hearts,

And the Earth Spirits who surround us.

May they all bless this rite of cleansing and healing for our home.
Reply:I just harvested my sage and made smudge sticks!

Basically you burn it- smoldering, not flaming and allow the smoke to go everywhere while focusing on it's cleansing properties. Go from room to room, with the windows closed, and make sure you don't miss anyplace. If there's a lot of negative energy I open all the cabinets and stuff. You can use a feather or a fan to keep it smoldering. After you have smudged all the rooms (which is what I just described) let it burn out on it's own- it'll stop when it should. Don't put it out on your own, just keep an eye on it.

Email me if you need anymore help- this is a big part of my spirituality and something I do all the time.
Reply:You'd be better off using a broom and a mop...
Reply:Pretty easy. Sage burns slow so you have a bunch that you light the top on fire and just wave the smoke through the area to be cleansed.

Where can i buy clary sage oil, and what do i do with it to help labour??

Hi, 11 days over due, just heard about this oil what shell i do with it when i get it and where can i get it from any ideas????

Where can i buy clary sage oil, and what do i do with it to help labour??
go to a health store and ask them for this. and ask them how it'll work to help labor. Those women/men know ''everything''.. Or so it seems. Go back if you ever have a cold, or toothache, etc.. They always have a remedy! lol

Rub about 10 drops on your hands, or just put some drops on a cotton ball and put them around you, under your pillow, etc.. take a bath w/it. This well help you relax and help w/labor
Reply:Please do not use it undiluted direct on the skin! Aromatherapry oils can be dangerous if used without knowledge. Clary sage is an abortant that should be avoided in pregnancy. At full term it can stimulate uterine contractions - to do this no more than 5 drops should be added to a bath.

Please seek further advise from a qualified aromatherapist.
Reply:Ive never heard that, but if you go for a nice long walk and have intercourse that should help as the sperm has a hormone in it that does something to the cervix to soften it. i hope this helps.Good luck
Reply:You could mix it with lavender and simmer it in a oil burner or I have known some people to add it to the water in the birth pool.

You should be able to get from any good health shops.

Hope that helps.
Reply:No idea about clary sage oile,as already mentioned in your previous question try visiting

http://ezinearticles.com/?Natural-Ways-t...
Reply:I haven't heard about Clary sage oil- but when I was overdue with my daughter I was told to use evening primrose oil- and try and massage it onto my cervix/ get it as near as possible!!
Reply:try spicy foods. that should bring on labour

Has anyone refinance mortgage with Sage Credit? Did you have any problems with them changing your interest?

You could check with a mortgage broker for that. I know of some if you need referrals. Also, after you refinance, you may be interested in this new program. It works well with a 30 year mortgage. I am currently using a HELOC with a new software program from United First Financial, called the Money Merge Account. This software helps build equity fast, and will help me payoff my home in less than half the time without refinancing, and without extra payments. It is saving me thousands in interest, and pays off home in less than half the years. Those who take an honest look at all the facts and figures from a reputable source will find that this system truly creates a significant advantage for homeowners. E-mail me if interested.

Sage talked me through how to add this to my report writer some time ago but when I transferred Sage to my new computer it no longer shows the VAT colummn and now I no longer have Sage cover so they cannot help me!

Sage instant accounts plus version 10.02 - how can I have Supplier invoices due report to show VAT %26amp; total?
I would see if there's a way to revert the program back to the usual way of doing things. If there's not, you should try to consult the help manual, it could be bad for someone to try to walk you through this.

Of course, if someone does then I'm glad and I hope it works out for you :)

What do you think about these girl names : Bryla, Sage, Carly Rae, Jude, Tori Ray Lacey-lee, Addie.?

i love the name addie its adorable. i don't really like sage or bryla but the rest is okay. hope this helps. :]

What do you think about these girl names : Bryla, Sage, Carly Rae, Jude, Tori Ray Lacey-lee, Addie.?
Some of those are okay, like Addie and Sage, but Ray and Jude are traditionally boy names. A little girl doesn't need to grow up with the burden of trying to contradict a masculine name, IMHO.
Reply:Addie-Rae is cute. :-)
Reply:I like Bryla, Sage (spelt with an I though, Saige), Tori (without the Ray though sorry), and Addie...

As for boys I like Hunter and Tanner.. My little brother's name is Tanner and my baby cousin's name is Tanner.....

Good luck.
Reply:I like lacey-lee and addie. Those are very cute....
Reply:I vote for Evan for a boys name (thats our little guy's name) and for girls, I think Bryla is different and neat sounding.
Reply:I like Carly and Addie.
Reply:I love the names Sage %26amp; Addie. Tori's a really nice name to, but i'd drop the Ray part.
Reply:I like Carly Rae for a girl. I like all the boy's names.
Reply:I love Addie! I also like Tori, but just Tori not Tori Ray.

For the boys I like Hunter.
Reply:I like Sage, Jude, and Addie the best of the girl names and Leland best of the boy names.
Reply:Bryla - hate

Sage - boys name.

Carly Rae - I don't care for Carly, but I like Rae

Jude - another boy's name

Tori Ray - Just ok. Ray spelling is a boy's name.

Lacey-lee - I like Lacey without the Lee. Lacey Lee is too redneck.

Addie - nope, hate this name. My grandmother, Adeline, absolutely detested people who called her this.

Hunter - it's ok, but overly trendy

Evan - I like.

Tanner - I like but again, trendy.

leland - Leland I like. Actually know a guy in his 50s and he typically goes by the nickname Lee.
Reply:Bryla: Not crazy about it, just doesn't have a nice ring to it.

Sage: Again, not crazy about it.

Carley Mae or Jae would be cute but don't like the Rae

Jude, is actually kinda cute. Like hmm Jude Francis, very Irish sounding Jude Lily...

Tori Ray sounds hick

Lacey-lee sounds like she should be on a pole

Addie is cute tho, like that one.

So either Carley, Jude or Addie.

Keep searching, you'll find the perfect name!
Reply:none of them but sage
Reply:like Carly Rae and Addie
Reply:I love the name Lacey (though not with Lee). Bryla and Tori are cute too.
Reply:Sorry, but I don't like any of your girl names. Addie is cute as a nickname for Adelaide or Adeline.

Of your boy names, I like Evan the best. It's modern, yet classy.
Reply:lacey lee is too repetitive but Sage and Bryla are really cute
Reply:Not my cup of tea. Too cutesy, made up. These are not the names of the girls in the 2022 graduating class at Harvard, KWIM? More like the names of the girls in the 2022 graduating class at Barbazon.
Reply:what about charlie - boy or girl, others dont like much may jude and addie at at push
Reply:I LOVE Sage, Lacey and Addie! Bryla, Carly, Jude and Tori are cute.
Reply:Out of your boy names I really like Hunter, and really dislike Leland..the others are okay.

Of your girls names I really like Bryla, Sage, %26amp; Carly Rae =)

In the end, do what you want because it's your baby and your opinion is the one that really matters! Congratulations!

Does anyone know where i can get sage line 50 without paying the expensive price?
Find someone else with the software and borrow it. That really is the only way. If you can find someone who runs an older version of the software it's easier to copy. The newer versions have limits on the amount of times they can be installed.
Reply:I've got it here somewhere. Just recently moved to Spain and not fully unpacked yet etc. But I know I got it somewhere. Pity that. If you don't get it sorted let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Have you encountered any saint or sage in your life? What impression he has created in you? do you follow him?

In India there is no dearth of saints and sages(some times pseudo). But in general we all rever saints and spiritual people. We read the books on them. we try to follow one or two good things propagated by them. In west, what is the norm? Have you come across any such one? what is your considered opinion about them. Do you follow any of their preachings or doctrines?

Have you encountered any saint or sage in your life? What impression he has created in you? do you follow him?
Yes, I did!

I feel offended when Saints and Sages are looked down upon as traitors. This was true about a century ago, when people were ignorant and never had enough sources to to the right information. But why are they frowned upon even today?

Whom I consider to be a Saint, is himself an IIT'an. He is my father's dear friend. He is a great worshipper of Swami Vivekananda. Ardent lover of Swami's teachings and philosophy, he from his busy life used to find time to read religious texts and teachings. He has sworn his life to service to ashram.

It was one new year's eve when I called him up to wish him "Happy New Year". He said that he didn't believe that any point of time could be happy or unhappy. He doesn't even feel the need to mark the importance of day, month or year being passed. He believes that time is a relative term.

Humble Samaritian that he is, did visit us next day to wish all of us hapiness and prosperity. I found this an excellent opportunity to ask him 'How was Time a relative term?'

He explained that time can only exist as a difference. There is no object that we can point to and say that "Look there goes Time! It only exists as difference. Time about an hour ago and time now. Time about a month ago and now. No sense of organ to percieve where does time travel. How does Time look like? Hence its infinite and one cannot exactly say as to how much time is Time! Its not bound anywhere. So is space. It also exists as difference! There's nothing that you could point to and say that this is space! Hence its infinite!"

I asked "But can I not define objects? Aren't they indicative of space?"

He explained, "Yes, objects can be defined because they have boundaries. There are edges and corners that define their shape and size and volume. When any object is devoid of any boundaries or edges or form or shape or size or volume its NO OBJECT AT ALL! ITS SPACE! SPACE THAT'S INFINITE AND SEAMLESS!

"Any object(living/non-living) that has shape and size or form is bound to perish and be ONE with GOD that's INFINITE. God that's infinite, seamless and ever-existing!"

I still don't have clear understanding of what its like to perish and be ONE with GOD.

But I do understand that its very important for a person to have some Saint or Sage to not only guide us through Science but also through our life. What they teach couldn't be any different from understanding elements, processes and phenomenon occuring in Nature.

If wise men could think,

"How do we fly like birds?", "How can I bring light in darkness?", "How can I fly back into Time?", then why cant we think,

"How do I get rid of fear of Death?", "How can a person be alive and predict what happens after death?" "How can we be self-enlightened?What kind of expereinces or what kind of thought processes will lead me to enlightenment?"
Reply:I wish I could. I would listen to the person, read about him, but no, I dont follow anybody.
Reply:There are TV evangelists, etc. who get a big following but most are not truly Divinely inspired. America has a real lack of spiritual leaders. I met a group of Tibetan Buddhist monks once who impressed me as being truly saints. I just enjoyed being in their presence for the time I was. Now I am back on my own again. I still believe Buddhism is the way for me...
Reply:yes n he changed my life. I follow him-atleast my heart does but i m so wretched that i fail to follow the path that he shows.

What nominal code do you use for the capital account in sage line 50?

Go to the nominal ledger and see what number is allocated for the share capital. You can set up your own number or change the description on the existing number to suit your requirment.Do not forget to amend your charts of account, if you set up a new number.

What is future of SAGE accounting in UK and Australia and also in USA?

Sage owns lots of titles, including Peachtree and BusinessWorks. In the USA, they continue to be strong. Because it is soooo costly to switch accounting software, most businesses will continue with a package until it is no longer possible to run it. It might not be a growth company, but at least it will be around for the next 20 years.

Some clouds on their horizon:

1. Quicken has made significant inroads in Peachtree's marketshare among new businesses.

2. Microsoft is in the middle of a $5 billion (US) investment into the accounting software market. While the current edition of Small Business Accounting isn't as good as Peachtree, you can bet that M$ will continue to improve it until things do work well. In addition, M$ bought the former Great Plains accounting software, as well as the former Solomon accounting software, and both come with significant installed bases as well as good reputations.

Savlia Pineapple Sage?

I know this sounds like a dumb questuin and i read that pineapple sage seed does not remain viable for a long time? In have found out the ususally germinate within nine days, but my question was about how long does the seed remain viable for? (weeks, months, years?)?? How can i extend its viability?

Thank You,

Savlia Pineapple Sage?
Allow the pods to dry for a few days in a warm place after harvesting. Mature seeds will roll out of the base of the bell. Usually there are only a few seeds in a bell. You can use paper coin envelopes to store seed. They need to be cool but not frozen and not damp. Refrigerate til used or store in an unheated room . Most seed is good for one year with a high germination rate. After that the proportion of viable seed drop rapidly.

What is the purpose of Sage placed on doorframes?
Some use it to keep evil from passing through the door. Personally I prefer to use rowan.
Reply:as far as i can tell sage is used as a protective herb. It is frequently burned to cleanse used alot like hyssop or frankincense and myrrh not just Wicca hold it in high esteem. It has very potent qualities and taste good when engaged in a meal meant for spell work. the Italians have the right idea. there are several types of sage some edible and some not to tasty. try looking for the use of sage on the Internet on one of the Wicca search engine or just pump in Wicca and sage. good luck.

Sage plant question?

i have a Sage plant planted outside,i live in a warm country,at the moment it has purple flowers on the top of it.

so can i cut these off?,are these the seeds?how would i go about this?

thanks in advance!

Sage plant question?
That sounds like a Russian Sage plant. Yes the purple flowers can be cut off but this plant ( if it is a Russian Sage ) are ornamental plants. They have the smell of sage but you don't need to try and cook with it.

The flowers are very pretty in a dried flower arrangement.
Reply:Salvia plants are perennials. You can cut the flowers and yes they will set seeds. If you would like to collect them you can wait till the flowers have matured and dried on the bush and then cut them off and place them in a paper bag in a dry storage spot. Seed can be sown in spring.

If you would like to propagate more, and you have a large clump, dig it up in autumn in warm temperate areas or in spring if it snows where you are, and divide it up. Just dig up the plant, shake off the soil, and break into a couple of rooted clumps. Replant immediately and water in well. This is the easiest way and you are reproducing an exact clone of the original plant which is important if you have a particularly good plant. If the plant is Russian sage (perovskia atriplicifolia) you can also divide or collect the seeds in the same manner. Make sure you have a multistemmed plant or you may not be able to divide. Good luck.

Does anyoneknow a way to get rid of a neck sage i am a little over weight my mother and little sister have?

always had this but i haven't i will be 38 this summer is it age i don't have the money for surgery is there any thing orver the counter i can use

Does anyoneknow a way to get rid of a neck sage i am a little over weight my mother and little sister have?
A sagging neck is often hereditary. Losing weight may reduce the neck but can increase the skin sagging. Face and neck exercises can help some. There are no cosmetics that really help with a sagging neck.

Will pineapple sage, rosemary & oregano propagate themselves from clippings or branches?

Pinapple sage (Salvia elegans) [see picture at: http://www.floridata.com/ref/s/salv_ele....

Data from the UC Davis web site (http://rooting.ucdavis.edu/pchome.htm):

Name: Salvia spp.

Cutting Type: hardwood

When taken: October-November

Medium: coarse sand or sand + vermiculite

Auxin: Panogen soak + IBA 4000 ppm

Structure: mist

Bottom Heat: noBottom Heat

% Rooting: 100%

Time to root: %26lt;8 weeks

Location : Davis, CA

Reference : Sexton, D.K. 1962. Proc. IPPS 12:226-228.]

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) [pictures at http://www.uni-graz.at/~katzer/engl/Rosm...

Many herbs also can be propagated easily by layering. For rosemary select branches near the base of the parent plant. Pull off side branches and leaves and press the stem into the soil. Weight it in place with a stone or pin it with a wire. Keep soil moist until the layered stem roots. Sever the newly rooted plant from the parent and move it to its new location.

While not listed at the UCDavis site, rosemary as well as sage can also be started from cuttings. Take 3-inch stem cuttings from healthy, nonwoody shoots. Cut below a node. Remove foliage from the bottom half of the stem and treat with rooting compound (from local nursery supply, or box store like Wal-Mart or Home Depot). Put on a mist bench or cover with a clear plastic bag (don't seal it up!) to keep it humid.

Oregano (Origanum vulgare L.) [pictures at http://www.uni-graz.at/~katzer/engl/Orig...

Simiarly, it is possible to root stem cuttings of oregano in the Spring (http://pss.uvm.edu/ppp/proptabNO.htm). "...propagation methods like cuttings, division and layering which clone the source plant’s chemistry and flavor are more effective for the other more variable Origanum species and cultivars. Origanums are notorious for mislabeling by commercial nurseries and retail outlets, so if purchasing a starter plant, it’s a good idea to smell it before you buy it." http://www.herbsociety.org/factsheets/or...

Hope this helps....

No, but if you can get sage leaves, either fresh or dried, then break some up and put into a teapot and pour boiling water over it and allow to stew for several minutes.

Strain into a cup or mug.

Drink.

sure is, see it all the time.

Tosca Reno

google her, she is in the best shape of her life and started at age 40.

she is my inspiration and i love her books!!

I am 44 years old but want to build my body. Is it possible now in thi sage?
No, nothing is impossible, especially with the human body. It will be harder to gain muscle mass. But if you try, you will gain energy, improve health, live longer, and be stronger in the long run.

I advise you to get a check up with the Doc first then begin to build your body = ).
Reply:Yes but don't have unrealistic expectations. If your body frame is skinny then chances are you won't be able to build too much muscle. It also takes a long time and you risk over exerting yourself and damaging your heart. I would make sure to get a trainer to help you with it.
Reply:Its possible at any age. But now we have to think about how healthy our hearts are. Thats one of the down sides of getting older you know. :) Go for it!

It's 'free' with Payroll 2008.

PS Link below is first I stumbled across = you want a good price, do your own research ..

OKAY. my kitchen paint will be light sage color in SEMI GLOSS> the ceiling will be cream white, but what ???

what finish paint for the ceiling???????????????????????

and if the kitchen walls are in semi gloss, what should the trims be????

OKAY. my kitchen paint will be light sage color in SEMI GLOSS%26gt; the ceiling will be cream white, but what ???
semi????

wayyyyyy too much light bouncing around. you want to wake up to that????

go high qual scrubbable satin like sw everclean with semi on the trim...

and semi on the walls will show EVERY imperfect on those walls

PS on that satin finish..... not all satins are the same. The satin sheen ranges varies from just above flat to just about semi-gloss. Ask your paint store for a sheen chart to show you what to expect from your satin. Shoot for something that shows some sheen but not a shiny semi-glass like satin.
Reply:save the semi-gloss for the trim unless your kitchen walls are perfect. our painter told us that semi-gloss shows every flaw. satin is what at least some companies call a new scrubable flat-type pain.

At any rate, your trim should be semi-gloss. If you're looking for a very glossy surface, maybe you'd enamel your trim.

your colors sound beautiful.
Reply:Look at a color wheel, and pick out the colors that make you 'feel' good. Sage green with blue, with yellow, with darker green, with taupe or brickish hues...lots of choices. Kitchen colors, I would think, you would want more 'warm' colors...inviting. What is your flooring? appliances? All of those items are factors that you have to consider. Have fun, and good luck.
Reply:I painted my kitchen with a darker mustard yellow for the trim with my sage and cream. Semi gloss worked well on all surfaces.
Reply:you can use what ever you want for the ceiling .I would use a matte finish on the ceiling but I would use the same color for your trim as on your ceiling but in a semi gloss.

you don't wanna put a semigloss on the ceiling it will show any in-perfection in you ceiling and it will draw attention away from your wall. you don't want to use the matte on your trim because its not washable and window Sile's and door way see alot of traffic and need to be washed. any other question please ask I live for this stuff.
Reply:Yeah I would save the semi for trim.Use a wipeable paint for the walls but not semi
Reply:I would personally just choose creme white for continuity.
Reply:watever makes u happy
Reply:I am a painting conrtactor and this is whai I would do ..flat on the ceiling ,dump the semi gloss for the walls and and go with an egshell and then satin on the trim I have done hundreds of homes like this and they come out beautifully I work in the luxury home market and if there was a problem i would know,so go with the sheens I mentioned and youll be fine.

Cumin is a very aromatic spice, most often used in Indian cookery amongst others. I find it's best to buy the whole seed ratyher than the ground stuff, lightly toast the seeds in a pan and then grind them in a pestle and mortar or coffee grinder. It's quite versatile

...here's some more stuff about it;

The small, crescent-shaped seeds of a plant called Cuminum cyminum, which are used as a spice. It has a warm flavour and quite a strong, pungent aroma.

Cumin seeds can be used whole or ground into a powder. They're frequently used in Indian cooking and are a regular component of curry powder, as well as being used in the Indian spice mix garam masala.

Cumin is also used in Mexican cooking; in Europe, it's used to flavour some cheeses and is sometimes used in baking. There's also a smaller, darker variety of cumin, called black cumin, which is usually used whole in dishes, where it adds a smoky note.

Buy fresh cumin seeds and grind them yourself after dry roasting them lightly. Replace your stock frequently - like other dried spices, cumin quickly loses its pungency.

As for sage, it's pretty tough, so it's best to infuse things such as butter with it, rather than eat it whole.

Here's some more info on it;

Sage (Salvia officinalis) is native to the Mediterranean. The colour of the downy leaves and the flavour varies but, in essence, it's a very strong aromatic herb with a slight bitterness that can withstand long cooking times and still retain flavour.

The strong flavour of sage means that a little goes a long way, especially if you're using dried sage, so use sparingly. It goes well with pork, beef, duck and chicken recipes, and fatty meats in particular. In Italy it's commonly served finely chopped in a butter sauce for pasta or gnocchi. It's also fried with liver or kidneys. Use a cocktail stick to pin a couple of sage leaves to a chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto for a herby flavour. Try dipping sage leaves in a light batter and deep-frying them as a vegetable or to eat as canapés with drinks

What is cumin used for/on? and sage?
cumin is used a lot in mexican cooking, when making refried beans, I use cumin, chili powder, onions and a little garlic and lime. sage is an herb that can be used with beef, pork, chicken, veggies...most anything.
Reply:Mostly in mexican food..

use sage in stuffing mix, sausage, chicken..
Reply:cumin is good in fajitas
Reply:I use cumin when making spanish rice
Reply:I use cumin in mexican food and in some middle eastern foods, and beans. I don't use sage as much, but it goes in corn bread dressing and some rice dishes. Hope that helps.

What kind of sage is burned in cleansing rituals?

I keep hearing people talk about this. I have no desire to do it, but just wondering, is this prairie sage or cooking sage? Seems like if it's cooking sage your house would just smell like burnt dressing? Is prairie sage burned in Native American rituals?

What kind of sage is burned in cleansing rituals?
Yes, wild sage, ie: prairie sage. I found some at a mexican import store. It's commonly known as a smudge stick. It comes bundled tightly with string. You light it and let it smoke. If you are cleansing your house, you carry it around the perimeter and through your house, then leave it in the chimney to burn away.

It's common to see smudge sticks at group gatherings. I always saw them during drum circles. There are different types of sage that are made into smudge sticks. White sage, I remember, was peppery and strong. Green sage was pleasent and mild. I prefer the latter.
Reply:Any sage will work, if you believe it will. But most prefer Prairie sage. I have several bundles from a couple of the reservations in S. Dakota.
Reply:I most often use white sage and cedar for smudging. You can buy it in bundles ready to go for smudging in various online pagan stores, or at a local metaphysical shop if you're near one.

Reply:There are many different types of sage to use. Sage commands the attention of our Spiritual and Elemental helpers. Sage smoke carries our prayers and intentions. It purifies and cleanses our inner and outer environments. Sage Bundles are use in ceremony as well as everyday cleansing. Healers and Psychics these Smudge Sticks in preparation, during, and after each session to clear the channel as well as blessing and releasing the service.
Reply:The one I've seen used most often is White Sage as well.
Reply:There are thousands of species of sage. The one we use is white sage, or more specifically "salvia apiana". The shop where I buy my smudge sticks and raw leaf said their supplier is based on New Mexico. The leader of the circle I attend said hers was from California.

More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_sage
Reply:I use white sage, but I believe any can be used

What part in native American beliefs do a turtle shell and sage brush have.?

My step brother is of the Caddo tribe, and gave me this some time ago. Not wanting to seem ignorant of his beliefs i was too imbarrassed to ask him.

What part in native American beliefs do a turtle shell and sage brush have.?
Don't feel ignorant, don't be embarrased, go ahead and ask him. I, myself, am Muskogee so I can't help you on the significance of the sage and turtle shell to the Caddo people. I have a feeling that he wants to share his culture with you, by giving you these things, but doesn't want to seem pushy about it. If you are curious, which you seem to be, I'm pretty sure that he will gladly tell you what you want to know and then some.
Reply:I think the shell is for putting the sage in to burn it and keep evil spirits out, but I'm not sure. I saw something very similar on television.
Reply:Ask him. Just tell him you want to know what it's for and how to do it properly.

If the shell is like a dish, it may be for purification/prayer stuff. I know others sometimes use sage and an abalone shell...

I have a question on herbs? Sage?

I am growing my own herbs.

What does sage taste like?

Is it best fresh or dried and ground?

What dishes is it best for?

I have a question on herbs? Sage?
Sage tastes like a very savory aromatic, with a little bit of sweet to it.

If you're putting it in a soup or stew you can use it fresh, but most recipes call for "rubbed" sage (that's basically dried and crumbled).

It's good in stuffing, and with poultry in general (particularly turkey). It's also good in chicken soup. In fact, sage is an anti-mucous medicinal herb, so chicken soup with sage works really well for colds.
Reply:Sage is very pungent and so use in strong flavoured casseroles, stews etc. goes really well with pork and as a sage and onion stuffing, best used fresh. but if not dried or ground will do. use sparingly as very strong.

If you have fresh leaves try frying them in shallow pan 30 secs makes them lovely and crisp, drain on kitchen paper and serve as a garnish!
Reply:Classic sage paring is pork but it works well with poultry and is amazing in some pasta dishes. Dried herbs always have a more concentrated flavor - fresh herbs....just that.... a more fresh flavor......something simple - a great ready made ravioli - say portobello.....with just some melted butter and fresh sage......manga!
Reply:It is difficult to describe the taste of sage, or any herbs for that matter. The closest I can think of is that my Mom used to use it when she made sausage or pasta or pesto sauce. I love the look and smell of sage--it is considered an aromatic herb. If you are growing it in a box with other herbs, you are going to have to cut it back because it will grow quickly and take over your box. Just keep picking it, as you do all of your herbs, and dry them to use later. Sage kind of reminds me of oregano and is rarely used by itself. It works well with rosemary and thyme, as well as parsley as the song goes from Simon and Garfunkle. Herbs are stronger when you pick them fresh to cook with because they release their flavor alot quicker. Dried, they last a long time and are great to cook with when you are cooking slowly, like simmering. To grow herbs successfully, don't be afraid to pinch off the leaves and throw them into whatever your're cooking. They add some great uniqe flavors and nothing is better than fresh herbs in a dressing for salads and sauces. It makes the herbs grow faster and bushier to keep pinching off the leaves. Since sage is such a good aromatic, cut it and bundle it and tie it and hang it upside down in your kitchen. The Indians used to burn wild sage in their homes and in ceremonies to get rid of bad spirits or bad auras. Great going with the fresh herbs!
Reply:I use it dried on meats such as beef...Taste fine to us lol!

Keeping away from salt is easy with spices :0)
Reply:I grow it. I use it for a roasted turkey or chicken. I just chop up the fresh leaves. It tastes similar to rosemary, but not as strong. I started growing it before last Thanksgiving, and the plant didn't die over the winter. You should grow it so you can taste it and learn how to cook with it.

We are running sage line51 on a local machine but want to copy the data onto a file server.?

This will allow the user run sage as before but with the data on the server.Does anyone know exactly what files I need to copy?

We are running sage line51 on a local machine but want to copy the data onto a file server.?
All you need to do in make a backup of Sage and copy the backup onto the server. Doing it this way, if you ever need to, you can restore your data back into Sage. If you want to just copy Sage onto the server, use the installation disc but it seems a bit pointless doing this when you can just backup the data to the server. I do it every night at work.
Reply:All the data is in a folder called ACCData. move that and then point sage to the new location

Any hot dog street vendors with sage words of wisdom for the newbie?

I want to get into this as a sideline and hire a kid to do the work when i cant. i can do six hours a day but i know I will need constant exosure. so I'm thinking 10 am to 8 pm. any thoughts on that or any other advice

Any hot dog street vendors with sage words of wisdom for the newbie?
My father ran a hot dog stand out of a truck. I think those were the hours he operated. Anything earlier than 10am is too early for the majority of the market, and people don't quite get an unsatiable taste for hot dogs after 8pm either, and it gives the people that work until 7pm time to decide that your hot dog stand is where they want to go to grab a quick dinner.
Reply:I'm not a hot dog vendor, but it seems pretty obvious no freebies. I used to know a guy who ran a hot dog stand near a local college. When the bars would close all the college kids would be looking for something to eat and there he was waiting to serve them. Catering to college kids during the evening seems to me would be better than just running a stand during normal daylight hours. The guy I know put four kids through college with his couple of stands located near two universities.
Reply:There is a gut truck near here that calls local businesses and sets up times to set up there. He also takes orders before hand so he can have everything ready by the time he gets there.

Ground sage?

I just bought some ground sage. I have never used it for anything. Care to share how you like to use it?

Ground sage?
Use it in a chicken marinade. Take equal parts sage, garlic powder, onion powder, dry thyme and moisten with olive oil. Marinade chicken 6 hours and grill. It's delicious!
Reply:Ground sage is a lovely seasoning for use in stew or rubbed on a beef or pork roast. It can also be included in the stuffing for chicken or turkey. My favorite is to sprinkle it sparingly on a beef roast before cooking.
Reply:it's great with poultry, stuffing, salads...
Reply:Its the main ingredient in breakfast sausage, and herbed rice or pasta. It also is the main ingredient in poultry seasoning for making stuffing.
Reply:I like to cut slits, or pockets, into pork loin chops and put some ground sage and parmesan cheese and a bit of garlic in before cooking, makes for somthing a bit extra in the middle. This works well if you the chops in the frying pan, 4 minutes each side, then bake them at 400 for another 10 minutes (California law says 145degrees and USDA says 160) I go for 150, leaving it moist and tender without any pathogens! This recipe also works nicely with basil.
Reply:Its best as a poultry seasoning - but you can use it for stuffing AND pork.
Reply:I make my own chicken sauSAGE, and it's unreal! :)
Reply:Sage is use in stuffing's for pork and venison.

It is said to aid digestion or rich heavy food and calm indigestion.

Can be drunk as a tea for indigestion, or gargled to ease a sore throat.

If you're speaking of the silver sage also called Ceniza, yes. keep in mind, however, that Texas silver sage can easily drown and prefers to be dry and in poor soil! Pretty lavender flowers cover this shrub after rain.

Who is the great sage free from all limitations ?

A great sage is free from all limitations, is such a person who is free from all limiting conditions and steady in wisdom. The self-knowledge in regard to which the ordinary persons are in the dark is like dawn to the Yogi; The Yogi remains as if asleep (i.e. indifferent) to that (sense-enjoyment) in regard to which they are wide awake. He is a man of self control which keeps him awake in that which is night to all creatures and that in which the creatures keep aware in night to the discerning stage-

Who is the great sage free from all limitations ?
the buddha, babaji nagaraj, lao tsu, maybe jesus, probably many "ascended masters", numerous beings from other of the infinite star systems in the physical multiverse. also, probably, many non-physical beings from dimensions above the 5th, etc. anyone who is truly "enlightened?
Reply:to answer this I would have to judge, which is not permitted in most religions.
Reply:The supreme being of course. And inside of you is a part of that as well the conscience. No one man or woman is that sage, that is impossible, but Jesus and that is well known.

However the word sage is used so loosely at times, people thought Gandhi was, or Mohammed both of which were ordinary men with just a little more gifts from heaven. Then there would be the Guru's and people call them sages as well and that is ludicrous. But have a good Christmas and Happy New Year.

T-molile shadow copper/sage Y is it a good phone or Y it is not?

Tell my what U know about it, something what I can't get from the T-mobile web. Thx :-)

T-molile shadow copper/sage Y is it a good phone or Y it is not?
Don't know much about the phone, but I can tell you, T-Mobile is famous for not having good coverage. I tried it for a week before deciding on my present (for the past 3 1/2 year) provider. Go for either Sprint or Verizon. They have far better coverage.
Reply:well i actually have one and i love it. it is the best phone i have ever had. the only thing i am disappointed with is that the battery drains SO FAST!!! even if the battery if fully charged overnight, by midday it will be halfway done. otherwise, i am in love with my phone.
Reply:I don't know a ton about it. But it is supposed to be an 'entry-level' smartphone. Meaning that it is a phone for people that may be looking into a smartphone, but may not be ready for a Blackberry or Treo, or something like that. It combines business/smartphone functions, as well as many multimedia functions. It would be like somewhere inbetween a Sidekick and the Blackberrys. So like, it isn't quite a blackberry, but isn't quite a Sidekick. I actually considered getting it, but the thing that turned me off is that it has that sure-type blackberry'esque keyboard that I just really don't like. So I opted for the Sidekick LX instead. I know that it supposedly has a good camera, is a pretty solid phone. I would say it is a good buy, and at $350 it is a lot for the money.

Oh - and I would absolutely disagree with the guy above me. I mean, where I live - T-mobile has amazing coverage, I get a signal literally everywhere and I love their phones. It depends where you live.

Flyfishing with a new sage rod?

i'm looking at the new slt 9ft. 4 piece 6 wt. by sage

any flyfishermen out there who have taken this rocket for a ride?

i'm lookin to use it on big rivers, float tubin small lakes, hows the action?

Flyfishing with a new sage rod?
It depends on how you fish. I use the XP for freshwater. At the time I bought it. It was the best rod they had. I prefer a "fast action rod". Before I moved I was going to get their TCR series but I primarily salt water fish now and use their xi-2. (That is a cannon). From what I've read, the slt maybe a little slow for me but if your casting stroke is slower, this could be perfect. Most high end shops will let you cast them before purchasing. Some even let you demo them with the rental fee going to the cost of the rod.
Reply:I've moved to Temple Fork Outfitter rods... they are a fraction of the price of a Sage and they perform pretty well. I went up to BC and wanted a 10' 9wt... could find only two... a Sage for $700 and a TFO for $170... I bought the TFO and landed big fish on it with no problems. Report It

Can you trim sage?

I have purple sage growing and it is getting HUGE (about 4ft in length already). The bees love it. But I need to get it to a more manageable size. Can I just trim back a foot or so and not kill the plant?

Can you trim sage?
yes and it benefits from pruning. We have 3 sage bushes and in autumn i trim them down to about three foot, by the end of the season they regualrily reach 6 foot
Reply:YES. It is a bush and will grow more at the cut locations (gets bushier). It is not like you cut the growing point off the top of a tree. After drying them, you can use the clippings for seasoning or aromatherapy.
Reply:Yes I have the same sage and I have trimmed it. this Russian sage is very hardy and will not die!

I have 4 plants now this year and love it!! Trim it as much as you wish, no problem.
Reply:By all means..trim it all you want. Sage is great to cook with and you could also dry alot of it and use in recipes.

Tampa Bay has arguably as good a defense and Rosenfel is no Peyton Manning.

Growing Pineapple Sage?

I live in Upstate New York, which I believe is zone 5b. I'm pretty sure that means that my pineapple sage will not survive the winter outdoors. So my questions are 1, If I cover the outdoor plants with compost material such as fallen leaves, and pine branches, will they winter? 2) If I leave the plants in my garden until late September and then move them to the house, will they flower? Thanks

Growing Pineapple Sage?
They definitely won't overwinter outside in Upstate, even if you mulch the hell out of them.

They should flower by late September.

I'm not sure if I would take the trouble to dig one up. They don't cost very much and it would be a real pain in the butt to keep one alive inside all winter. I'd just go buy a new one next year.

it doesnt smell like marijuana..but it is used to keep evil spirits away..i guess thats what indians do..but it doesnt smell like marijuana..its just a spice..
Reply:I don't think it smells like marijuana at all. We sometimes use it as a spice in our pork dishes.

Cleansing a home with sage?

I just moved into an old home, and would like to clean it of anything negative or unholy. I heard that sage works. Any suggestions?

Cleansing a home with sage?
Smudging is a sacred tradition that has its roots in the indigenous cultures of the world. As a tradition, it has been passed down for millennia and many ways and variations exist. The common thread is that, the smoke from sacred herbs can be used for purification and spiritual preparation. We can smudge to clear and ground ourselves and our intentions before and after healing, initiation and ritual. We can clear rooms and create sacred space. Sacred spaces are created by passing the smoke around the perimeter of the room, moving sunwise: east, south, west, and north. Sage is also burned to drive out bad spirits, feelings, or influences, and also to keep bad spirits from entering an area.

There are many ways to actually smudge. One ancient way is to start by drawing on the power of the five elements, by burning your smudging herbs in a shell. An abalone shell represents Water and the flowing and filling power this element offers us. The sacred herb is a gift of Earth and represents her creativity and strength. When we light the herb we are invoking the transmute element of Fire and the smoke that rises represents Air, carrying and releasing our cleared intentions and prayers. Through our deliberate action, we ourselves bring the fifth element: ether or life energy. Next we offer the smoke to the seven directions: east, south, west, north and up, down and center. Returning to center we are now ready to purify ourselves. Start by holding the shell in front of you and gently fan the smoke up to your heart. Pass the shell up along the center of your body, encircling your head.

As with all things this is only one of the ways. Trust your inner feelings and allow yourself to create what is sacred and meaningful to you.
Reply:Sage is a great way to clear energies, negative or simply the residual energy of previous owners. The smoke can be used to cleanse yourself or other objects, such as your crystals. It is unlikely that you have anything "unholy" in your new home as such things are really rare and depend on your belief in traditional mainstream religions and their hierarchy of "demons". Unwanted spirits may take more than a dose of cleansing incense to be encouraged too depart, but 99% of the time, have no "evil agenda". Spirits and energies are part of the world around us. Your own fears will be the bigger "demon".
Reply:A little sage would make it smell nice...but as for "celaning the negative"...no way... for one thing the only "negative" that could be there, in a spiritual sence ,would be from the forces of evil...and they would just think the smell to be another smell... no such practice can comple the forces of evil to do any thing... Only one with The True Authority of God can command evil spirits to depart.
Reply:Sage is great, but I agree with peachyone, there is little to be feared from spirits. Latent, negative anergy, however can make one very uncomfortable, especially in a new home, and especially if you are sensitive to such things. You can also drum, sing, burn frankincense, rosemary or lavender to help clear up negativity. You may also wish to look up some info on feng shui, to really get the chi flowing.
Reply:Sprinkling salt into the entrance way of each room is also supposed to work. Supplant that with a prayer for peace.
Reply:In any home I move into I always do my own kind of cleansing....I go around to each doorway, window, etc and take some olive oil and make a cross above are next to them and I say a short prayer...In the name of Jesus please don't let anything bad are evil be able to enter this home, keep this home happy and filled with your love Lord. It makes me feel so much better to live somewhere when I do this.

Can I match restoration hardware silver sage paint to an ICI paint?

You will be able to closely match the colour of virtually anything in an ICI paint - but you will never match the base and texture. If you are fully re-painting an object or a room this base and texture thing won't be a problem, but if you want it for touch-up's the ONLY thing that will ever match exactly is going back to the exact same brand of paint.

Can I match restoration hardware silver sage paint to an ICI paint?
I'm not sure about the question BUT matching a color from ICI wouldn't be a problem any good paint store should be able to match just about anything, if they can get it on their scanner. Glad to see your using a good quality paint, hope it's their Dulux line, it's the best, good luck Les the painter

Difference in ground/dried sage?

i am making cornbread stuffing and recipe calls for a good bit of dried sage leaves..which i ussually use. but i accidentaly picked up ground powdered sage instead..will this make a difference or should i go get a bottle of dried sage real quick?

Difference in ground/dried sage?
The ground will do fine, but converting to ground from dried might be a little tricky, For whatever amount the recipe call for in dried, I would try about half of the ground.

Cranberry or sage green on my wall? Couch is brown mostly with a tiny bit of green and more cranberry.?

Redecorating- helpme!

Cranberry or sage green on my wall? Couch is brown mostly with a tiny bit of green and more cranberry.?
sage green. It is a calm, soothing and natural color. You will be able to accent the room more with that choice over the cranberry. Also, the darker colors tend to make rooms look and feel smaller. Good luck to you.
Reply:idk Report It
Reply:Sage green walls or paint one wall cranberry. All cranberry too much, not relaxing.
Reply:Bring the sage green out for more contrast!
Reply:Cranberry if it's just one or two accent walls, a color like that can get overwhelming easily.
Reply:then i would definatly do the dominant contrast color, green.
Reply:Both of those colors are great, so you can't go wrong. I would probably do green because I might get sick of cranberry.
Reply:After applying thousands of gallons of paint, and doing my own decorating, I suggest a few things.

First, I would not mix the two accent colors in the couch by painting them on walls,,,nor would I strictly use both colors in that room even in accents,,,no offense meant to anyone.

You don't state any other predominant colors,,,IE: Flooring, current wall color.

If I was doing this project, I would pick either accent color, I would experiment with the cranberry as opposed to the green. I'd paint that color on one wall only,,, perhaps the wall the couch backs up to.

I'd also have a color wheel handy to check contrasting and complimentary colors and shades,,,or a chip sample booklet sold at any decent paint store.

I wish you had mentioned the color of flooring or carpet,,,but anyway,,, I'd try to find,,,in that chip sample booklet,,, a close match to the Brown, that is the sofa, and see how it's lightened in shades of that color on the chip sleeve. Then I'd try that lighter shade,,,even going to a cream, or tan,,, on the other 3 walls.

The good news,,, about any answers here, is that we all have preferences, so no one is strictly right, or wrong, as it applies to your own preferences,,,which, btw are very personal,,,even in color choices...It's our opinions.

Oh yes,,,Um,,, The Good News: Paint is likely the most inexpensive means to decorate,,,and if one is unhappy with it,,,IT can be painted over.

In your task ahead, I also suggest get the smallest samples of the color choices possible,,, perhaps 1/2 pints, and apply the colors in a patch. That will allow you to compare, and live with the choices, deciding which you prefer. Then move on to the entire room.

Reply:I'd go with the green, it's a nice compliment to the brown...and honey, have you ever tried painting a wall a really dark color like cranberry? It takes coats and coats and coats, and that's using a tinted primer first. Gah.
Reply:sage green would better. its also softer on the eyes rather than cranberry, but if you're the type who's strong and loves loud colors then go ahead with cranberry
Reply:I'd recommend sage green. Cranberry is just too dark of a color to paint a room. You could maybe use cranberry as a trim color or add a strip of cranberry paint running around the top of the room or even paint one to two walls cranberry depending on the room layout. But don't paint the entire room cranberry. I think cranberry actually goes with the color of the couch better, but you don't want the entire room that color because it is too dark. I like the one person's idea of painting the wall behind the couch cranberry then maybe painting the rest sage.

Paint a large 12"x12" piece of cardboard of each color. Then apply a ring of blue painter's tape to the back. Stick it up on the wall and see how it looks. I recommend buying the smallest amount of each you can buy and doing that first. You may find that the shades you thought you liked don't do the trick. I painted my downstairs 3 times before devoloping this technique. It works great. You can move the cardboard around to every piece of major furniture, painting, etc. You can take them to stores, whatever.

Just to note, I painted the downstairs in my house prairie grass green and I love it. It's close to sage green, but I like the color a little better. You can find the color at Lowe's. I believe it's part of their American Tradition or Signature line.
Reply:Sage green, it will help make that color on the couch POP
Reply:Sage green. It'll be very pretty with your brown/green/cranberry.
Reply:Sage green or even lighter.
Reply:Sounds like you may have a beautiful couch. The colors in the fabric sound great together.

I would choose a complimentary shade of green on the walls...and do some accents in cranberry...like a vase, flowers, or some pillows. Also something gold on the end tables. I'd use some ivory or off white in the accents to soften the look....like a bouquet that has some creamy-looking silk baby's breath. Or use some soft white doilies under some of the objects on the end tables

Use crocheted ones for a heavier look, or all lace or lacey edged doily.... Whatever your taste is and what would compliment the style you are achieving. Try some off white lamp shades. New lamp shades on old bases can do wonders. Maybe some of your pictures could be double matted with off white and cranberry.

Don't go too dark on the walls especially if your room is small or/and the couch is a shade of dark brown. If there are any other touches of color in your couch, you could pull those out and use them in the accents also. Just a dab, though.

Choose some beautiful, but simple complimentary wall pictures/artwork. Try to frame them in gold. Don't over do the number of them. Also hang your pictures or other wall decor if using them with the tops all being the same level around the room......And the level mark if at all possible should line up with some other feature in the room...such as the height of a cabinet.

For example

Where the cabinet height ends (if reasonable of course), have the top of your hangings start there for level height. It's easier on the eyes and more becoming in the room. Too many ups and downs for the eyes makes the room busy looking and takes away from trying to pull the whole scheme together.

Sometimes just one decor of the right size looks great on one.

wall. If you are using more than one, try to decorate in uneven numbers...like sets of three...vertical or horizontal.

If you have a small budget, buy some frames from a used store

or garage sale. Spray paint frames in gold. Look for pictures and table doilies the same way. Ask any relatives or friends if they are storing any of the items you are looking for and will probably never use them again. They might enjoy helping you search.

Again try to keep the room on the simplier side....even if you want the more elegant look. Not too much....and not everywhere.

Let some of your wall color really show and your wood work also.

If you have too much "stuff", store extra away for awhile and rotate items when you choose. Less is better.

Have fun redecorating.
Reply:I think the sage green would be wonderful with the brown, not to mention it is more versatile backdrop for your room. Greens also tend to have a calming effect , so if this is a room you want to relax in then green beats the cranberry hands down. Then your accent color, cranberry, will really pop! Happy decorating!
Reply:Sage green

Reply:Definitely the green. Cranberry will over power the other colors and make the room seem smaller with the darker colors. It'll look great with the sage green!

Can the herbs sage and sagebrush be used interchangeably for smudging?

I live in Utah, and I'm always coming across Sagebrush, but I've been in need of Sage for smudging. I was wondering if I could just use the Sagebrush, so I don't have to buy low quality, overpriced Sage at the store. Are Sage and Sagebrush close enough to being the same plant??? Or will I be bringing a whole host of nasty sh!t down upon my head if I don't use the Sage? I'm Pagan, and the DOES have to do with my Religion! I NEED to cleanse my place! {I've got nasties all over...}

Can the herbs sage and sagebrush be used interchangeably for smudging?
The sagebrush is great. In fact sage smudging is mostly derived from Native American customes. The sage (white sage) sold in the metaphysical stores is basiclly a form of sagebrush and not the herb sage. Probably if you collected it yourself would have better properties as well.
Reply:Like in the Sweat Lodges of North America --- Sage is good stuff, Sagebrush is equally good.

Some Ocean Kelp's are OK too and preferred my some.
Reply:sorry not into cleansing but trying to think logically here to help anyway ...

i would try it because i don't see how using sagebrush would encourage anything negative at all .. OK it may not do the job of the sage .. but i don't see that it would do any harm

hope you get a better answer though xxx

Sage smudging during pregnancy?

I recently have been attuned for Reiki II, during the class my Reiki Master cleansed the room and each person by burning sage around the individual people. I actually bought some sage to burn in my home for the same reasons but read that if pregnant it should not be used. Obviously, now, I am not going to use it but does anyone know the reasons or the affects it causes during pregnancy? I am a little worried now, I feel fine and have not experienced anything unusual..but I just want to be sure. Thanks for your answers!

Ragnarok - Should I be a Wizard or a Sage? What is stronger for PvP?

I'm just wondering, since i hear Wizards die alot, but Sage heals alot or something, so I'm not sure. Please help me =3 Thanks

Ragnarok - Should I be a Wizard or a Sage? What is stronger for PvP?
Sage is pretty awesome, if you're in a party during PvP. They're really nice assistance, but they can't really be a main. Wizards can kill many more classes, well besides a good Archer class.
Reply:I would go with the wizard *more attack spels* sage is more of a healer if i remember correctly.

Is salvia just sage.....like the sage you spice your food with?

from what i've heard it is sage.. but the word sage implies someone with prophetic vision, and i'm tellin you, salvia gives prophetic vision, or an aproximation anyway. the stronger stuff makes you think that you aren't even inside your own body, but someone is, and you can see them moving your hands. that's about the only part of you you can move at a high dose of high quality salvia mind...

Is salvia just sage.....like the sage you spice your food with?
The name salvia, from the Latin salvere, to be in good health, to cure, to save. Common name is sage. You can use the flowers in salads an infuse for a light balsamic tea. You can use the leaf mixed with onion for poultry stuffing. Cook with rich, fatty meats, pork, duck, sausage. Blend into cheeses. Dip %26amp; fry whole leaves in batter or young leaves in cream or eat with sugar and orange and make sage vinegar %26amp; sage butter.
Reply:Salvia is a genus of plants, sage being a member. Common usage of the word salvia usually means a decorative variety rather than those grown as herbs.
Reply:It encompasses lots of different types of sage. Without knowing what type you have, I wouldn't eat it. I don't know if any of them are toxic or (most likely) would just taste foul. In short, I wouldn't cook with it.

I need advice on planting mint and sage in my front flower beds...?

I AM PLANNING ON PLANTING SOME SAGE AND MINT. SHOULD I WEED THE AREA AND USE A WEED KILLER? IF I USE A WEED KILLER, HOW LONG MUST I WAIT BEFORE PLANTING? ALSO, IS THERE ANYTHING OUT THERE THAT WOULD DO WELL FOR SEMI-SHADE, AND IS GOOD FOR GROUND COVER? THANX

I need advice on planting mint and sage in my front flower beds...?
You may want to try using a plant fertilizer that eliminates weeds. This will feed your plant and kill the weeds. I planted peppermint in my herb garden last fall, in a container, and it STILL got out and spread all over the place. It is a great ground cover, but it will take over anything that is not covered with grass. It also smells good and will keep away bugs.
Reply:Snow on the mountain, also known as Bishops weed, is a fast growing ground cover for partial shade, it burns in full sun.Do not use a weed killer where you are planting herbs. Pull instead. You are better off growing mint in a container, it is very invasive.

How easy is it to use SAGE line 50?

I am very familiar with all sorts of software and have worked developing databases etc. and manged ICT projects so I am no stranger to quickly becoming familiar with new software but I have never used SAGE, is it straightforward or totally different from anything else you might find in a standard office? Will a reasonably ICT literate person pick it up in a couple of hours???

How easy is it to use SAGE line 50?
i think you will find it ok to use. i am in the process of teaching myself as we speak and it actually ok to understand. the icons are pretty much in order of how you should process things... and they do have a little chart thing showing you the process from start to finish for various processes.

sage also offer a great telephone service where they can talk you through various things, and they double up by emailing information on any help issues you called them about!

the nominal codes are quite easy to grasp as well... the only thing i will say is that you need to make sure things are inputted correctly because it is difficult to delete (but i believe is possible).

good luck, be a devil and embrass the sage. i am, lol.
Reply:go to the SAGE website and take the tour, you may also - for free- take an online mini exam to test your knowledge

as regards the system per se there is a hand book available as an introduction to sage (particularly version 12) which costs around £12, cannot remember exact title but it is something like Sage Line 50 in Easy Steps and is extremely useful, i am a sage user and find it handy for the odd tips and tricks sections

there is no way you will "pick it up" in a couple of hours but this itself depends on the applications within sage that you are required to use

i strongly suggest you use the sage website as mentioned above
Reply:I work for a company that supplies Sage Pastel Partner, which is user friendly, a little more advanced than Line 50 and generally more reasonably priced. If you want me to get some specific information for you, follow the email link on my profile and I can provide you with more details

What do you think of the name Sage for a girl?

The last name would be Samatino.

What do you think of the name Sage for a girl?
Hippie name. With a four-syllable last name, I would go for more than one syllable in the first name. Samatino has such a lovely flow and Sage is very short and harsh.
Reply:it's kinda unique and if you're going to put a 2nd name on it that sounds for a gurl it would be nicer too. if i ever i would have another baby i definitely go for a unique name too... i already have 2 gurls their names is not that unique but i like it very much coz it has meaning for me... my name is jenny mah 1st baby was Jenzeline and the 2nd one is Jennea Angela...if you think that it meant something for you then gor for sage....

Because the first name is one syllable and the last is three, and because both begin with the "s" sound, what is your choice for the middle name? (Your child may or may not want to use the name or initial in their adult life.)

Will peyton manning play a full game week 16? or do i start sage rosenfels for the texans?

playing for 1st place!!!

Will peyton manning play a full game week 16? or do i start sage rosenfels for the texans?
the coach said he'll play at least half of the game.
Reply:Earlier this week Tony Dungy announced that his starters would play a full normal game. He dosent want to rest them and let them get rusty an get knocked out early. You will see Manning play deep into the 4th quarter so you gotta go with him.
Reply:wow!! great question. I actually have the same predicament with peyton. I am in the championship game. The Colts have already clinched homefield advantage with the bye week so they will more than likely play their starters for only 1 half or less. Sage will play the whole game and he always seems to play well. Especially against second stringers.

Only time in my life will i ever say bench Peyton in favor of Sage!

Schaub will not play for the rest of the season. why risk injury to the future.
Reply:No, but if it turns out to be a shoot out he will. I am in the championship and I'm starting him over rivers. colts d is to good. go with manning. please look at my question it is CHAMPIONSHIP ON LINE.
Reply:I'd say go with Manning. He's flat out awesome. Plus, Kubiak stated on a radio show here in Houston that if Schaub can play at all, he's gonna be in there at least 25-50% of the game so he can get more experience in a divisional game/hostile environment.
Reply:I would go pick up a different QB and start him

Why would the colts play peyton the whole game and risk injury thats stupid

and if you start rosenfels, he will be going up agaginist one of the best defenses in the league

Pick someone else up

Yes...use a spray bottle and scratchy sponge and add a little "Dirt Tex." Should do the job with no offfensive odors or harmful effects.
Reply:sage, sweet grass was what I used along with tobacco offerings and salt around the house after the smudging inside
Reply:The principle herbs used are sage, cedar or juniper, lavender and sweet grass.

Generally, sage, sweet grass, and cedar are burned to purify and protect one's living area.

There are two major genera and several varieties of each genus of Sage that are used for smudging. Salvia, or the herb sage used for cooking, comes in two major varieties: S. officinalis, commonly known as Garden Sage, and S. apiana, commonly known as White Sage.

Smudging may be done by yourself or with one or more other people.

There are many different rituals and methods used when smudging.

One or more herbs used in different combinations or alone.

Rooms and psychic tools, such as crystals and other objects that hold energy, are often smudged/cleansed on a regular basis.

The initial smudging is for the purpose of purifying the space and participants and for banishing any unwanted energies.

Cleansing the ceremonial or ritual space before and after the event is an essential part of spiritual hygiene.

The final smudge is to cleans any negative vibrations and energies attracted or created during the proceedings.

It is also a good thing to do on a regular basis for both one's self and one's living space, to maintain individual and domestic harmony.

Smudging itself takes many forms.

Sometimes herbs are tied in a bundle called a 'smudge stick' and allowed to dry.

Some herbs lend themselves to braiding.

In olden times, the end of the smudge stick or braid was lit from the central or cooking fire.

Today a candle is recommended as it takes some time to get the stick smoking.

Loose dried herbs may also be placed directly onto the burning wood in an indoor fireplace or crumbled between the fingers over a piece of charcoal. The container used for the charcoal and herbs needs to be fireproof.

Ceramic or glass bowls with a layer of sand or salt work well.

Especially nice is an abalone shell with a layer of colored sand in the bottom.

Remember that the container may be come warm enough to scorch a surface or burn your hand.

I hope this helps. Good luck with your smudging. :-)

Reply:Get a sumging stick, I would use white sage and ceder, LIght it and start at the back of your home and smoke every room and walk rigth out the font door. Thatshould do it unless you have some realy bad juju.
Reply:Yes, the white sage will work. You should also get a white candle or several votive white candles and place them around the house. Also, sprinkle some sea salt in all the rooms while calling in all the positive energies before you light the sage. Leave one door open or a window a passage way for the negative energies to leave the house. Once you light the white sage take it from room to room and concentrate or say a prayer calling all that is good and positive and releasing all negative energies that my have been left in the home. Make sure that you open up the closets to let all negativity out. Once you have done this to every room go out through the open door and put out the sage. If you left a window open, then put the sage through the open window and put it out. If you did not use the whole sage stick, then you can saved it in a tin can and use it again if you feel the need. It is also good to get holy water and sprinkle some in every corner of every room in the house.

I can change the font size, colour, etc, but I can't put it in capital letters. (I'm using the invoice_or_credit variable)

In Sage accounts how do I get 'Invoice' to appear in capital letters when I create a new invoice?
Hi

Try this it might be the answer,

open sage

*select,

*invoice,

*then print ,

*highlite the description you are going to invoice with, make sure the output on the right is set to preview then click edit at the bottom.

* now you have the option to edit that page i suggest you select the text box [ T ] drag that over where you need to say invoice then in caps write invoice,,,,,, save and rename that page then it should come out in caps when you go back and select print.

make sure you change the output back to print when selecting invoice,,,,,

try this i think it may be the answer if not then sorry.

Downloading an accounting software from sage?

i tried install the software for accounting but it says database not conected in the computer. what do i do now?

Downloading an accounting software from sage?
You need to install a database for it first. There should be some instruction in what you downloaded or on the sage site.

Most of the sage software is for business use in a client/server setup where a database resides on a server and is overkill for personal and small business use. It's been too long since I've dealt with any sage software so I'm not sure.

If you're interested in checking out some other free accounting software programs, look under the Financial Management / Accounting section on http://www.t3technet.com/alternates.html

How well does burning Sage do in clearing and ridding negativity?

How effective is it against negativity surrounding and being sent towards me ?

How well does burning Sage do in clearing and ridding negativity?
Sage is very effective in clearing negativity from an area. Use dried sage in a heatproof container (a shell held with a potholder is a nice natural burner) and rub the smoke all over you as if you were taking a bath in it. Brush the smoke away from you to carry away any negativity.

When you're done with that, brush the sage smoke towards all corners of the room with a feather or your hands. That will clean your living space.

Then, to complete the cleansing and bring positivity into the area, light a twist of dried sweetgrass and smudge the entire area with its smoke. Sage removes negativity, and sweetgrass invites positive energy into your home.
Reply:after a long stressful week of work, i find that burning some white sage relaxes me...i just love the smell! i first encountered it at a powwow...in the evening, when the crowds had left and there were a few dozen people camping out next to the powwow grounds, i burned some in our campfire while playing my 12-string and just 'visiting' with the other people there...one of the most enjoyable evenings i'd had in a long time
Reply:That is a waste. Put some on fish, it tastes great.
Reply:If the negative person is in a closed room with you, it will increase the negativity and then drive it out, along with you and the other person.
Reply:If someone is actively working, via spells or prayer or whatever, against you then sage won't do much. Sage is good for sedentary negativity. Meaning, oh say, someone really mean lived in your house prior to you for 20 years and the house just "feels icky."

If someone is working against you, you'll need stronger stuff than that. Blessed salt and/or oil is good. Anoint doors and windows to keep stuff out.

If someone is seriously working against you, I'd advise a St. Benedict medal. It's a microexorcism. Even if you're not Christian, the blessing is valid. See the link below for description and explanation.
Reply:I do not know but I do know that my Choctaw and Cherokee ancestors used it widely for cleansing rituals. I find it quite comforting for aromatherapy such as candles and bubble baths. Lemongrass or Lavender with it relaxes too.
Reply:Its wonderful for physical environment
Reply:Religiously nothing.

But sage and other things are good for respiratory problems which can cause stress. I use some and incenses, etc.
