II ave a traditional country mix with a French (light) blue carpet and navy furniture. I am thinking of adding sage green curtains. What about a golden yellow on the walls? I would like to stay away from white/ivory.
What color should I paint my walls?
There are lots of gold/yellow tones that add a real richness to the room. I like orange, but I don't have blue to contend with.
Golden yellow, blues and sage could be just beautiful.
Reply:go with a lighter shade to help reflect the natural light. darker colors will darken the room
Reply:I think the golden yellow, like "torchlight" by sherwin williams, would be very pretty.

I think a very light sage curtain - border on a neutral - would look alright. Anything darker %26amp; you might start to have too many colors competing with each other.
Reply:Golden or pale yellow would look great with French and navy blue.
I would add curtains the color of walls, furniture, or carpet; or combo of two or three of the colors.
Maybe some silver [ chrome ] accents - mirror, pic frames, etc.
Repeat the wall, furniture, and carpet colors in small accessories - throw pillows, lamps/shades, vases, ornaments, planters, candles, holders.
Reply:If you are painting the walls a golden yellow (I would go on the lighter side of this shade), I would make my curtains a combination of the colors in the room, not a completely separate color.
