Can I make a sausage stuffing using Stovetop Stuffing mix?

I want to make sausage stuffing for Thanksgiving but I already have a Sage Stovetop Stuffing mix...could I make it using that instead of going the homemade route? How could I make it and what kind of sausage should I use? Thanks for your help!

Sure you can! Just make the stuffing according to directions. In another pan, saute up your sausage - jimmy deans, or bob evans is good. (add some chopped onion and/or celery to it while it cooks, if you want). Toss with stuffing and bake it - it will work out fine!
Reply:Yes, you could. But I think you'd need about 3 boxes to make enough for TG.

Use a roll of breakfast sausage, like Jimy Dean or Owens.

I'd also suggest you crumble some of your own cornbread (you can buy it in the bakery dept of a grocery) in w/ the stove top, so it doesn't taste quite so "stove top."
Reply:Many grocery stores will offer Italian sausage not in the casing this time of year. Brown that and add it to your Stove Top (depending on the size of your box - maybe about a half pound or so). Add a small diced onion, some fresh sage and substitute part of the water required with chicken stock (you can buy that in one cup boxes) if you want to enhance the flavor.
