What is the best temperature to cook pork at? How long?

I have 2.5 lb pork roast that I want to cook, but I want it to have that pulled pork texture. I was also told I could use Thyme, Sage, Marjoram on it, but I cannot find any recipes with these herbs in them. Any help would be appreciated.

What is the best temperature to cook pork at? How long?
OVEN: 350 degrees F.

SIZE 2 to 10 Lbs.PORK ROAST

1. Cook 20 min. per pounds (example 2.5 lbs roast would cook 1 hour) Remember it could be a little longer but not under this time...It just depends on how well done you want your pork (not over a total of 1.5 hours)

2. If you are using a Meat Thermometer the Temp. should reach 160 degrees F

3. Most people think that pork has to be very dry and well done for it to be safe to eat, that is not true….160F will kill any germs that may be present and the meat will still be a nice soft meal and still have some pretty pink inside…..don’t worry it is safe and it is Medium Well.

If you have never cooked roast before, my husband suggests to try this...

1. Pan large enough to hold everything and the cooking juice (about a medium size baking pan)

2. Put the meat in the pan and sprinkle good with Salt, black pepper, garlic powder (if you want you can add the marjoram, Sage and thyme that you mentioned...

3. The rub it all over the meat, top, bottom and side.

4. Cut up 1 or 2 carrots-a couple of potatos, Onion, garlic if you want and bell pepper (larger bite size for the carrots and potatos) and put all over the top and sides in the pan.

5. Sprinkle a little salt and black pepper over the vegies.

6. put about half a cup of water in the pan (to make steam as it cooks.

7. cover with aluminum foil and bake.

We hope this helps you. (*-*)
Reply:350 deg. for at least 2 to 3 hours.
Reply:160°F. In a 350°F oven you can achieve this at approximately half an hour per pound. Remove the roast when it reaches 155°F as it will carry on cooking to an internal temperature of 160°F out of the oven.
Reply:you cook it gas mark 4. electric 160. 20 mins to 30mins per pound ,depending on your oven. if you want too add herbs mix a few teaspoons with some butter or a little oil, then rub it all over the roast, keep basting your joint every 30 to 40 mins. you can make a nice gravy from your meat juices when your meat is cooked. just blend a few teaspoons of cornflour with a little water, strain your meat juices from the tin and remove some of the fat. you will need about half a pint of fluid so if you havent got this much from the roast just add some water, i normaly add the water too the actual meat tin, after i have removed the meat, as you get all the lovly flavour. just mix the juice too the cornflour and stir well then bring too the boil, make sure you keep stiring as it will go lumpy. if you are having wine with your meal you can add some to the gravy, add alittle salt and pepper to taste.
Reply:360 degrees farengheight and for 15-20 minutes
