Please help me choose colors for my living room?

I'm 19 and about to move into my first rental apartment. My bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom are going to have sage green accents (towels, curtains, rugs).

What should I do about my living room? I have a light brown hand-me-down couch so far. I'd like to buy another chair and some accents in either sage green or teal.

If I choose teal, would it look out of place since the rest of the apartment is going to mostly be sage green? Since I'm just renting, I won't be painting walls. I'm just focusing on furniture and accents.

Please help me choose colors for my living room?
wow you really like that sage green huh? well you are probably going to get tired of it and want to get away from green so i would really go with teal! It wouldn't look out of place at all...things that would look out of place is if your WHOLE ROOM is in Purple and you have ONE hot pink lamp thats out of place.

but if you use teal i would cheap the couch because teal and brown look good together...i would buy some teal pillows rugs maybe add some flowers with teal vases!

HOPE THIS HELPS!=)
Reply:add teal everywhere or use a lighter blue
Reply:what about duck egg blue cushions and accesories, you could always cover your sofa with cream or white throws.
Reply:If you love green, you can accent whit other colors like blue, yellow, brown, some tones of red and inclusive pink.

I will go for earth tones on all this colors.

If you like dark colors don't use a solid ones, try to include patters fabrics in you pillows, and curtains and bedding accessories and repeat this colors in others accessories on the room like pictures and lamps.

you can also look for pictures in decoration magazines and try to imitate it, it can be a color or a piece or furniture and find some think like it for you when you are going out shopping
Reply:Maybe a cranberry color? My living room is in tan, cranberry, and green and the colors look very nice together.
Reply:try a pale blue for the walls. i guess you could just get rid of the couch, or you could keep it and get some white or brown chairs and a table.

my bff's mom has this in her bedroom, and i LOVE it
