What is the best way to keep my herbs?

Drying? (if so, how?). Freezing? (if so how?). I have sage, basil, parsley, oregano, and borage.

Thanks!

What is the best way to keep my herbs?
Can you bring any of them indoors, on a sunny windowsill? The sage, parsley and oregano would do well in pots in the house over the winter.

I don't use enough borage to advise you. As for the others, cut stems in the morning, gather in small bunches and hang upside down in a cool, dry place out of direct sun. When dry (this can vary), store in airtight bottles or jars.

If you have plenty of basil, make pesto. It freezes well in small jars!
Reply:ag...you were sooo asking for a weed joke on that one.

sorry, don't know anything about keeping herbs...think your best bet would be an internet search.
Reply:For everything except the basil, I agree with the drying advice: cut early in the morning, after the dew is off the plants, tie in loose bunches and dry in a warm dark place (A place with some air circulating is also a good idea.). My experience with basil is that it oxidizes (and discolors) badly and is touchy to dry. It freezes well. I personally don't do that, but I do make huge patches of pesto to freeze, as another answerer suggested. Friends and family look forward to our pesto gifts at holiday times.
Reply:You should hang them upside down (dry them). Take a needle%26amp;thread and string your herbs up so that they hang. They'll dry out best.
Reply:First clean and dry them.

pre-heat oven to 200f

place some foil on a cookie sheet .

Then doing one type of herb at a time, spread them on the cookie sheet.

Place in oven leaving the door open.

Depending on the herbs it takes about 1 to2 hrs.

Once they are nice and dry simply crumble and put in spice bottles. Hope this helps
Reply:get a food drier and keep them in plastic bags in the dark
Reply:In little plastic sandwich bags.
