no,the native american culture and others have used it for centuries.i was told to do it by a friend, because i thought my house was haunted.i did it several times.the only ill effect?ANYONE who visits ur house the next day will think u were smoking weed and they wont believe u when u say u wereburning sage! i speak out of an embarassing experience-no one EVER drops by to see us,but of course,my friends did and they were disaproving and scandalised!(and didnt believe us.)

Are there any hidden dangers of burning sage?
Sage has some medicinal properties that may be released into the air, including eucalyptol (like cough drops). It is an antiseptic and bactericide, so it really does "clean" the air when it's burned. It has been known to help with respiratory allergies.

However, it is contraindicated in persons with high blood pressure, epilepsy, pregnancy or if blood is present in the urine. Also used to help dry up breast milk, so a nursing mother probably would want to avoid being in the room while it's burned.
Reply:Only burning down your house (Joke).

Wonder what you mean by the question. Have you heard

of a hidden danger? I have used sage for many years as a sacred, healing, purifying medicine plant. Alone, with others, in ceremony. One medicine teacher warned to open at least one window, to prevent glass breakage, in the event of a powerful cleanse.
Reply:I don't believe there are any hidden dangers! My mom has burned sage before moving into any home she has lived in...she believes it keeps evil away!! Depends on what you believe I guess....Plus she likes the way it smells!!
Reply:I burn sage all the time.I also go to native sweat lodges that use sage.Never had any problems.
Reply:not unless your sensitive to the herb.

Was use for warding off evil and misguided spirits. Cleansing a dewalling before an ceramonies.

Also used to ride negitive energies.
